Finding a Home Business Mentor
Taking the leap and starting your own at home business takes fortitude, strength and determination. However, all of things can be bolstered with a mentor to guide you along the way. A mentor is an individual who serves as an advisor, an example, a sometime sound board and possibly a friend.
Finding someone who has already walked the path you intend to tread can prove invaluable, both from a business and a personal standpoint. Finding such a person may take a little while but making the effort to do so will pay off big dividends for the newbie home business owner.
But how to find such a person? Attend industry meetings, join the local chamber of commerce, basically just network like crazy. Many people will be flattered if you approach them looking for help and advice because you value their opinion. In just about every corner of America there are business and leadership organizations dedicated to uniting people from a certain business sector together for jut this purpose.
As you network and meet more new people your mentor will emerge. It is not so much about finding your own Obi Wan Kenobi but, putting yourself in the right place for the opportunity to interact with those who know the ins and outs of a home business and can offer sound advice.

Excellent advice…if I might add some other sources…
Local networking groups (may be found in local newspapers), library groups and presentations (for people of similar interests) as well as other online (i.e. MeetUp.com) networking organizations.
