If you have a website for your home business venture you certainly want as many visitors as possible who hopefully turn into customers. Many focus on the way their website looks but, are not so careful about what it contains. Poorly spelled copy or dull content can kill the sale instantly.
People can get so lost in the SEO/keyword concept that while the content is indeed stuffed full of keywords the copy itself ends up turning the reader off (and Google too.)
If you are not much of writer there are plenty out there who will be willing to write balanced, interesting but, still SEO friendly copy. You can find reasonably priced freelance copywriters at sites like Odesk and Elance who charge very competitive rates.
Another website poison is plagiarized work. If you get caught the ramifications both you and your company can be in legal trouble. If you write the content yourself do not be tempted to “rewrite” another’s work to claim as your own. You can use their ideas as a base but, ensure that the wording is uniquely yours. If you employ someone else to do the work always double check with a site such as Copyscape or Plagium to ensure the content you have bought is truly unique.
